Accreditation

In 1991, the Meadville Cooperative Preschool became accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs. The Academy administers the only national, voluntary, professionally sponsored accreditation system for all types of schools and child care centers. The Academy is the accreditation division of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the nation’s largest professional organization of early childhood educators.

Early childhood programs receiving accreditation have voluntarily undergone a comprehensive process of internal self-study, have invited external professional review to verify compliance with the Academy’s Criteria for High Quality Early Childhood Programs, and have been found to be in substantial compliance with the criteria. Meadville Cooperative Preschool is proud to be one of the only accredited Preschool in Meadville.

In May of 2008 Meadville Cooperative Preschool became re-accredited as one of the first early childhood programs in the country to earn the mark of quality represented by the reinvented NAEYC Accreditation system.

As of February 2023, we have successfully completed our re-accreditation for another 5 years!
